iWave Global, a leader in embedded computing and FPGA System on Modules, announced the launch of the iG-G80M, a powerful Versal™ RF Series System on Module (SOM) engineered to deliver unmatched wideband RF capture, massive DSP compute, and low-latency signal processing for next-generation aerospace, defense, wireless, and test & measurement systems.
Built on the AMD Versal™ RF Series adaptive SoC, the SOM integrates high-resolution RF-data converters, AI Engines, LDPC decoder, and programmable logic into a highly optimized form factor. The signal processing blocks are FFT/iFFT, 1 GSPS channelizer, LDPC decoder, and polyphase arbitrary resampler. This monolithic architecture enables designers to analyze, process, and act on RF data in real time without companion FPGAs or discrete converters dramatically reducing system power, size, weight, and complexity.
The iG-G80M Versal™ RF SOM delivers exceptional compute density and wideband RF performance in a single, integrated module, built around the Versal™ RF Series device. Its compute architecture features dual Arm Cortex-A72 processors running at 1.65 GHz and dual Arm Cortex-R5F cores at 800 MHz, and as many as 126 AI Engine tiles with 32 Mb of dedicated AIE data memory.
The SOM integrates high-frequency, high sample-rate RF-sampling data converters with integrated signal processing IP for high-performance RF system and RF ADC/DAC High-speed connectivity is enabled through dedicated RF ADC/DAC 128 pin board-to-board connector.

With wideband spectrum capture and real-time DSP acceleration, the iG-G80M SOM is ideal for phased-array radar and multi-mission defense systems, electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO) & SIGINT, satellite communications, and broadband ground terminals, 6G research, wireless test instruments, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers. The SoM’s ability to perform direct RF sampling and on-chip DSP reduces the need for analog downconversion stages, minimizes system latency, and streamlines RF signal chains for high-performance applications.
