The growing adoption of connected vehicles and edge analytics has increased the need to efficiently collect and interpret diagnostic information directly from automotive networks. iWave’s ISO 15765 stack is developed using ANSI C source code and supports the specifications required for ISO 15765-based vehicle diagnostics. It also supports the four variants of ISO 15765-4 CAN used for OBD-II communication.
The stack supports both 11-bit and 29-bit CAN identifiers and standard communication baud rates such as 250 kbps and 500 kbps. This allows the Telematics device to communicate with different vehicle architectures and retrieve diagnostic information from the vehicle network.

Analytics platforms can then use this information to identify abnormal operating conditions, support remote diagnostics, monitor vehicle performance, and improve maintenance strategies.
Processing selected data at the edge can also reduce the amount of raw vehicle information that needs to be transmitted to the cloud while enabling faster local responses.
