Customer Background

A leading EV company specializing in manufacturing electric trucks for last mile delivery was looking for a rugged telematics unit with 3 CAN Ports and Linux capability, enabling edge processing and fleet intelligence.

Challenges & Requirements

Optimizing CAN FD throughput for efficient data transfer and improved performance, ensuring seamless communication within the system. Additionally, minimizing GSM AT command response time delay improves operational efficiency. Also needs a mechanism for accurate time synchronization after each boot.

    iWave Scope of Work:

  • CAN FD message Throughput Optimization: The Device enhances the efficiency by optimizing CAN FD throughput and doubling ECU firmware update speed during OTA processes.

  • GSM AT Command response time handling: Handled Cellular AT command response timeout by processing responses immediately upon receiving it from the module.

  • NTP Update: We provided a service which instantly updates date and time upon network detection via GPS or other interfaces.

  • Volume Order: Production of 1K Units Annually
