Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics
Absolutely. The Telematics Gateway features an IP67-rated enclosure, operates from -40°C to +70°C, and is engineered to withstand dust, water, vibration, and harsh outdoor conditions, making it ideal for mining vehicle , construction vehicles, heavy duty transportation, automotive equipment etc.
The Telematics Gateway is powered by the NXP i.MX 8DXL processor running at 1.2 GHz and operates on Embedded Linux (Yocto 4.2). This combination provides a flexible, Powerful and reliable telematics platform with edge computing capabilities.
The device performs edge data processing, including protocol decoding, event detection, and secure data transmission. By processing data locally, it reduces bandwidth consumption, minimizes latency, and enables faster response times, making it ideal for real-time telematics and connected vehicle applications.
Yes. The Telematics Gateway supports Standby Mode (~20 mA) and Deep Power Down Mode (~1.2 mA) with configurable wakeup sources including Ignition, CAN, RTC, Timer, and Accelerometer, making it ideal for battery-powered and always-connected telematics applications.
Yes. High Precision GNSS is available as an optional configuration for applications requiring enhanced positioning accuracy, such as precision agriculture, construction equipment etc.
Yes. Automotive Ethernet is available for high-speed in-vehicle networking. The standard configuration includes one Automotive Ethernet interface, while an optional variant supports two Automotive Ethernet interfaces for applications requiring additional high-speed communication.
Yes. The Telematics Gateway supports 5× CAN FD, and automotive-standard protocols including J1939, OBDII, and UDS over CAN.
It enables real-time acquisition of engine diagnostics, fuel consumption, battery status, fault codes, and other vehicle parameters.
The Telematics Gateway runs on an Embedded Linux platform based on Yocto. Customers receive a complete Board Support Package (BSP), including the Yocto source, Linux kernel source, and base BSP implementation.
To simplify application development, iWave provides software libraries with APIs for accessing the available hardware peripherals, along with comprehensive API documentation and user manuals.
Customers have full access to the source code and are free to customize or modify the Linux kernel and BSP to meet their application requirements.
Complete flexibility is given to build custom Telematics applications covering data acquisition, edge analytics, protocol conversion , event processing and securely connect with various cloud platforms. It allows developers to integrate end use case specific edge features such as power management, network management and over-the-air (OTA) updates
Yes. The Telematics Gateway supports Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware and software updates through integration with OTA frameworks such as Mender, OSTree, Memfault or any other OTA client.
OTA functionality can be implemented as a custom solution based on your application and cloud infrastructure requirements, enabling secure remote deployment of firmware and software updates to devices in the field.
